We find websites that list everything, without regard to quality or value, to be overwhelming and confusing. The team of experts who make up our Selection Committee review thousands of items and eliminate those of poor quality and those which don’t provide compelling value. This way you get expert guidance with the convenience and low prices of online shopping.
Our website is our only store. That’s why we take extra time with you when you call, chat or email. We also offer free samples so you can see the colors and feel the quality of the products in your own home. Also, retail locations are expensive. If we had them, our prices would need to be higher!
Yes, our guests love the opportunity to touch and feel the quality of the products before making a substantial purchase. We offer free samples of our cabinet doors as well as each of our flooring products. We currently do not have samples of vanity cabinets or countertops available.
Lakestreethome.com is the most cost-effective venue for us to offer our products. Therefore, we can offer the best pricing here. Those sites give us great exposure, but are impersonal and cost us money to use. We’d prefer to welcome you to our own store, where you can contact us quickly and we can help you with your order.
Please call or email us to discuss a builder relationship. We have a robust rebate program for builders who use our products.
Yes, we offer free expert design service. Please call us to get started!
Installing a floating floor is not all that difficult. With a little handiwork and some fairly basic tools, you’ll get the hang of it quickly. Follow the installation instructions that are sent with your flooring. We’ve also posted videos of our master installer showing you how to install a floating floor to our YouTube channel. If you get stuck along the way, we can offer guidance over the phone, as well.
Estimate the area of your floor by multiplying the length by the width of each area that needs flooring and adding them up. Once you have an accurate calculation of the area, add 10% by multiplying the total by 1.1. This will hopefully give you enough material necessary for the cuts you’ll need to make to properly install the flooring as well as some flooring left over “just in case.” If you’re not sure how much to order, call or email our expert team!
Our expert team would be happy to discuss your transition strip needs by phone, email or instant message. Generally, a t-molding is placed between two floors of the same thickness, a reducer goes from the higher floor to a lower floor, an end-cap buts up against carpet or doorway thresholds, and a stair nose finishes the flooring at the edge of a step down
This is a great question. The answer is that we get frustrated by stores that don’t tell you the freight cost until well into the checkout process. Our flat-rate shipping program means that you’ll pay $99 if you’re near our distribution center in the middle of the country and $199 if you’re further away (generally closer to the coasts or in the South). Regardless, we’ve shopped around and have found our product+freight costs to be very competitive with the big, impersonal sites that offer lower-grade flooring and cabinetry.
Our free-standing vanities all come assembled. Our guests were concerned about the weight of our larger vanities. Now many are conveniently crated in two separate boxes for ease of handling (cabinet in one, top/sink in the other). Now lugging that vanity up to the bedroom is much easier! You’ll simply need some adhesive to affix the countertop to the cabinet.
One of the reasons we’ve partnered with Poet’s Cove is because their vanities are ALL WOOD. There is no MDF, HDF or particle board. While those materials are great for many uses, we feel that wood construction is best in the bathroom.
Our Poet’s Cove vanities have real quartz, granite, or marble tops (your choice) with rectangular ceramic undermount sinks. Some of our other brands carry a model or two with a full-ceramic top, but none use fake stone. That’s just wrong!
It will take basic carpentry tools and skill to assemble these cabinets. After your first one, you’ll get a rhythm for it. We’ve posted assembly videos by our master assembler to our YouTube channel to get you started. If you get stuck along the way, we can offer guidance over the phone, as well. Take a look at the videos to see if you think you are ready to assemble your own cabinets.
Kitchen cabinets are usually purchased and delivered in one of two ways: assembled or ready-to-assemble. “RTA” is an acronym for ready-to-assemble. RTA cabinetry is delivered to the customer in flat boxes. The cabinet boxes are in their initial parts and pieces and will require assembly before being installed.
Of the many benefits of purchasing RTA cabinetry is that you can get a higher quality cabinet at a generally lower price than assembled cabinets. Other benefits include lower freight costs (because they take up less space), reduced likelihood of damage during transit (because the pieces are stacked on each other and boxed tightly) and quicker arrival (because they’re typically packaged and ready to go prior to your order being placed).
Most of our guests purchase their cabinetry Ready-to-Assemble. In many geographic areas, we can assemble your cabinetry and send it out complete. This adds cost and time to the project, but allows those without carpentry skills to take advantage of our free design service, high-quality products and delightfully low prices.
Once you get a rhythm, you should be able to assemble a wall cabinet in less than 15 minutes and a base cabinet in less than 20. Drawer base cabinets, corner cabinets and utility cabinets will take a bit longer.
In many geographic locations (mainly the Midwest and Southeast), we can provide assembly at an additional cost. Speak with your Lake Street Home designer about the assembly option. However, our YouTube channel has a lot of great videos to get you started with your assembly project. We also have a master-assembler available to speak to you by phone for any questions that may come up.
Once your order is received, the Lake Street Home team will quickly prepare your products for shipment by lovingly packaging and shrink-wrapping them. We’ll arrange freight with our shipping partners and your order will often leave our facility on the day that it was ordered! We’ll send you the tracking information at the email address that you provided at checkout so you can keep an eye on it. Large shipments are prepared on pallets and will be delivered “curbside”. It is your responsibility to get the products into your home. If you have questions or concerns, please call or email us right away. Often a simple phone call can clear up any issues.
We make every effort to ship your vanity or flooring order within 8 business hours of receipt if it is in our main distribution center. RTA cabinetry will typically ship within 7 business days. Assembled cabinetry will ship within three weeks.
